Icon Publishing, a distinguished name in the Motorsport publishing industry, sought to expand its digital footprint and connect more effectively with its audience in the digital age.
Their problem came about when they were looking into alternative ways of promoting the launch of their Annuals.
They reached out to us and we can up with some active and alternative solutions.
Our approach
We decided to blend their traditional marketing efforts (facebook ads and organic reach) and blend it with quite an obscure digital marketing platform… Reddit ads.

We found it worked well as we were able to advance target through reddit and reinforce through Facebook with a nifty attribution model.

Sessions by social source has seen the most improvement, with 1300% increase in Twitter and a 1600% increase in sessions from Facebook, which is most impressive considering the established Facebook presence already.
Almost a 50% increase in overall sessions is also a great indicator. At the end of the day giving more people the chance to buy your products is the best way to convert more people and increase awareness.

Facebook Retargeting Explained
Lets first explain the 2 different Sales ads, They are for 2 different products that were similar in nature so we though it would be relevant to include in the graph.
Firstly the reason Reach and impressions are almost identical is because almost all Facebook users that saw this ad saw it once. This is because we did not feel the need to reinforce heavily on Facebook as we were reinforcing the message from reddit and then targeting reddit users on facebook. Thus we deemed we could achieve more bang for our buck not having the ads reappear to uses on Facebook instead stretching our budget to new users.
